Life lately, October edition!

First of all, how are we already 9 days into October?!

Took some PTO, drove to the other side of the island to catch up with a sweet friend and watch Verity. Because why NOT take a day off to go to the movies and have a little girl time?!

Work has been WORKING, school is schooling, and the to-do list is never-ending. BUT I’ve been doing pretty good about taking my mornings back. More reading, less scrolling, finding little things to do that don’t involve a screen, and actually clocking out when the workday is over!

And my evenings? Oh, we’re crafting, watching movies, hanging out with family, and getting into whatever hobby has my attention that week.

I’ve just been having a really good time lately. Nothing particularly fancy, just doing more of the things I actually enjoy.

And if this is how October is starting, I can’t wait to see what else we get into!

Speaking of which, what are we doing this weekend?! Anyone have fun plans? Because I’m always looking for an excuse to add something to my calendar.

This is quite literally my perfect day. 📚 ⁣
⁣
I NEED one day a week where I have nowhere to be. No plans. No errands. Nothinggggg.⁣
Just let me read my book, pull out whatever hobby I’m currently into, eat something yummy, probably start 14 different things and just BE HOME.⁣
⁣
This is how I recover from the week and prepare myself to do it all over again on Monday lol.⁣
⁣
And I’m also trying to have FUN on Instagram again. Less worrying about what I’m “supposed” to post and more books, hobbies, cozy days, random little adventures and whatever else I’m into that day.⁣
⁣
It’s cozy season, I do what I want and I want to find more people who are into the same random stuff I am.⁣
⁣
So if this is also your idea of a perfect day, hiiiiiii. We’re friends now.⁣
⁣
What are you doing on your do-nothing day??⁣

I’m so excited because I took PTO today to meet up with my friend for lunch and a movie, and it feels so good.⁣
⁣
And honestly, I feel like I deserve a gold star for that. ⭐️⁣
⁣
For so long it’s been give 110%, all the time, and it’s HARD to break that cycle.⁣
⁣
So I’m giving myself gold stars for clocking out of work on time and actually enjoying my life. For doing things just for fun, like checking the library before buying another book because your girl has NO space left on these shelves and I end up giving them away anyway. 📚 ⁣
⁣
For having fun with my hobbies even when I suck at them, because hey, at least I’m having fun AND using all the supplies I keep buying.⁣
⁣
For actually making the plans instead of living in the “we should totally do that sometime!” dimension and then never doing it. IYKYK.⁣
⁣
And learning to say no without a lengthy explanation. No is a full sentence.⁣
⁣
What do YOU deserve a gold star for?? Tellllll me and I’ll send you a digital gold star!!! ⭐️⁣

September highlights:⁣
⁣
Started with a little work travel, and then COVID kicked me HARD. 😵‍💫⁣
⁣
Followed by lots of crafting, hobbies, and finally making my way back out into the world to spend time with friends and partake in all the fun things!⁣
⁣
I read 14 books! Finished 2 puzzles. Celebrated the return of DWTS because Tuesdays are officially my favorite night again.⁣
⁣
Crushed my grad class. TWO more to go! Achieved some pretty big things at work, continued growing our team, and I’m just so excited about everything we’re building.⁣
⁣
Made some really big, exciting, and dare I say scary proclamations about what our future might bring 👀. Ate all the soup. Enjoyed all the treats. But our forever favorite is my husband’s homemade wood-fired pizza because yummmmmm. 🤤⁣
⁣
And mostly? Spent a lot of time enjoying this precious little life of ours. Clocking out on time. Taking back my mornings and my nights. Making time for the things I love and the people I love.⁣
⁣
Period. 🤎

Now I’m ready, locked and loaded for my favorite season of all!

What are we doing this October?! Give me all the cozy ideas. 🍂

Still in recovery mode, but that didn’t stop me from indulging in some of my favorite treats this week. ⁣
⁣
I was fortunate enough to have @breadandchocolate_hi TWICE this week! ⁣
⁣
Once as a cutie little pick up from @bestiebrewco as part of their Bestie Drop, and their pumpkin coconut crunch was THAT GIRL. ⁣
⁣
Then we mustered up the courage for our first official outing after being sick for almost two weeks and headed to the amazing Pottery, Pastries & Paws event at one of our favorite places, @hilobaypottery! ⁣
⁣
I got to catch up with friends, enjoy my faves from @breadandchocolate_hi , and glaze some new bowls for our sweet girl! 🐶 ⁣
⁣
We did a quick little fall craft and gift pick up afterward and enjoyed an incredible lunch at another fave, @vibe.bigisland .⁣
⁣
Still taking it slow, but it felt SO good to get out of the house, see some of my favorite people, and enjoy some of my favorite things again. Feeling so grateful. 🥹
